Document Workspace Sites for Collaboration on Tasks, Projects, and Documents

Document Workspace Sites for Collaboration on Tasks, Projects, and Documents

Using Web parts, lists, and document libraries, a Document Workspace creates an environment centered on one or more tasks, projects, or documents. Team members can work together on a document (either the Document Workspace copy or their own copy) and periodically update copies that have been saved to the Document Workspace site. Team members will always have easy access to this information.

Site users with "create sub-site" rights and administrators can generate a Document Workspace site from any compatible Office program (Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Excel 2003, or PowerPoint 2003) or by using a browser to access a Document list in the SharePoint site. Users that have no Office programs installed can still view documents using viewers provided by Windows SharePoint Services.
